Executive Director Named
The Children’s Museum of Yuma County has hired SABRA LEMMON to be the organization’s first executive director. Lemmon was the top candidate after an extensive search that resulted in a total of 25 eligible applicants. The executive director job is a three-year grant funded position paid for through a charitable contribution from the Gowan Company. Lemmon started her tenure on June 1.
Lemmon gained popularity throughout the area as Yuma Mom; for the last three years, she has been the primary contributor of content to the popular resource website. She is also the former owner of Tree House Kids Club, and she currently teaches business at Northern Arizona University Yuma. Lemmon is a graduate of Yuma High School, Northern Arizona University (BS, Education; Minor in Agribusiness) and Walden University (MBA).
“We are thrilled that Sabra has joined Children’s Museum of Yuma County,” said Kevin Burge, president of the CMYC board. “We look forward to incorporating Sabra’s expertise into the overall goals for the museum. Our organization believes in creating a place for the fun and informal education of young minds, and Sabra’s combination of experience and promotional savvy will make a tremendous difference in the success of CMYC.”
